1. Who We Are
ChoreMi ("we," "our," or "us") is a family chore-tracking application that helps parents assign household tasks and reward children for completing them. Our contact email is privacy@choremi.app.
2. Information We Collect
- Account information: Parent email address, hashed password, and display name.
- Family data: Family name, member names and roles (Parent, Grandparent, Guardian, Kid, Teen), chore assignments, point balances, reward redemptions, and streak data.
- Device data: Push notification tokens (to send chore reminders), device platform (iOS/Android), and app version.
- Payment data: Subscription status is managed by RevenueCat and Apple/Google. We never store raw payment card details.
3. Children's Privacy (COPPA)
ChoreMi is designed for families. Child profiles (Kids and Teens) are created and managed exclusively by a parent or guardian. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13. Children interact with the app only through a parent-created profile — they do not register, provide an email, or communicate with us directly. Parents may delete child profiles and all associated data at any time from Settings → Delete Account.
4. How We Use Your Information
- Provide and improve the ChoreMi service.
- Send push notifications for chore reminders and streak warnings (requires your permission).
- Process subscription payments through RevenueCat and the App Store.
- Respond to support requests.
5. Data Sharing
We do not sell your personal data. We share data only with:
- RevenueCat — subscription and purchase management (revenuecat.com/privacy).
- Apple / Google — app distribution and in-app purchases.
- Hosting infrastructure — encrypted storage of your family data.
6. Data Retention & Deletion
You can permanently delete your account and all associated family data at any time via Settings → Delete Account. Deletion removes all records from our database within seconds. We do not retain backups of deleted accounts beyond 30 days.
7. Security
Passwords are stored as bcrypt hashes. Sessions use HMAC-signed tokens. All data is transmitted over HTTPS/TLS. Child profiles may be protected with a parent-set PIN.
8. Your Rights
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete your personal data. Contact us at privacy@choremi.app to exercise these rights.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy periodically. Significant changes will be communicated in-app. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
